Studying a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree may seem like a golden ticket to success. However, who should go for an MBA – and, of course, the best time to go for it – are different matters entirely, as Dr Marie-Aimée Tourres, Head of the MBA programme, Manchester Business School Worldwide at Sunway University College explains.

The number of MBAs available in the market is constantly increasing. More than ever, it has become a trendy degree to go for. Nevertheless, this does not mean that everyone should go for it just to follow the flock. This is a degree which requires some thought as to how beneficial it will be, because the potential student must weigh that against the expected capital and personal outlay. ‘A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is for those who want to go into the business line and/or have entrepreneurial tendencies,’ noted Dr Marie. ‘It will give you a wide horizontal overview of all the areas needed to manage a business.’
