HSBC Scholarship Awards 2009: Master's Programme Scholarship

We invite application from working adults with at least 3 years of working experience who will be pursuing a full time master programme in 2009, in a recognised local public or private university or college.

Criteria

Eligibility

Working Malaysian adults who will be pursuing a full-time / part-time

master’s programme in 2009, in a recognised local public or private

university or college.

* This scholarship award is not open to children of employees of HSBC

Bank Malaysia Berhad, HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad, HSBC Amanah

Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and HSBC (Malaysia) Trustee Berhad

Working Experience

At least 3 years working experience after obtaining a first degree

Age Group

Below 40 years of age

Academic - Degree

Minimum Upper Second Class Bachelor degree with honours

Scholarship duration

Up to 2 years

Scholarship Amount

Up to RM30,000 per scholar

Studies Criteria

1.     Full-time / part-time master studies *12-24 months programme)

2.     Must have gained admission into a recognised local public or private university or college

3.     For twinning programmes, the full duration of the programme must be done locally

4.     No restriction on field of studies

Other criteria

1.     No bonding required

2.     Combined monthly household income in RM3,000 and below

3.     Applicants must not be in receipt of any other scholarship, or award from any educational institutions, or any other organizations / foundation

4.     Education loan is permissible if the scholarship amount is not sufficient to cover tuition fees

5.     Successful applicants must be able to maintain a CGPA of 3.30 or equivalent throughout the duration of his/her studies

Complete the application form (http://www.hsbc.com.my/1/PA_1_1_S5/content/website/pdf/about_us/education/hsbc_scholarship_app_master.pdf); attach all certified true copies of relevant examination certificates and forward it to the address provided on the scholarship application form.

Closing date: 19 July 2009

Only short-listed candidates will be notified and required to attend an interview.
